Note: "The repeating fiddle melody is a Whup hack of Hassan Hakmoun’s “Saade” (which he recorded and sung on Kronos Quartet’s “Pieces of Africa”). The tune was introduced to Gabe in hacked form by electronic composer/ cellist Cosmo D in the middle of a rooftop party they were playing together on New York’s Lower East Side in 2003(2?4?), and Gabe started improvising lyrics over the groove about the houseboat he was living on with his then-girlfriend. Gabe continued hacking Cosmo D’s version, and it soon became what you’re hearing here."
